[Linrad] Choppy audio Logmein GUILTY

Leif,

It looks like all of my choppy audio issues are connected with the remote desktop program Logmein. I can monitor the audio remotely without the control of my remote desktop. (I can not see the Linrad screen, hihi). The audio does not chop until I start the remote desktop program.. Linrad is fine and not at fault. I hope you did not waste time trying to figure all of this out.

73, and thanks for the FB program. Stan, KA1ZE

Well, I thought I had the popping solved. The longer I leave Linrad on the more the audio chops. When I click on a new frequency the chopping goes away. I noticed the severe chopping with CPU usage under 50%....

Leif,

Changing the screen size to 60% X 60% has nearly eliminated the audio popping. The Logmein usage is around 25-30%.

Leif,

I just tried the Perseus program that uses 20% of CPU and I get no audio pop..... Logmein usage is only about 35%. Linrad is set for screen size 100% X 95%. The Perseus only occupies around 50% of the 1280 X 1024 monitor. I will try reducing the size of the Linrad window. Maybe there are too many things changing on the Linrad display that cause the Logmein usage to go up?

Hello Leif,

Thank you for the update. I am using it with the Perseus. I like the centering feature right clicking the Frequency bar.

I have had an ongoing problem with audio popping. I have noticed a couple of things when the pop occurs. 1.) I get the pop when the Main Waterfall drops down. 2.) I also see a spike in the CPU usage in Windows Task Manager. I have had the audio drop out and needed to X out of the program and start again. When this happened the Task Manager indicated CPU usage at 100%. Linrad is using about 14% of CPU. This is a remote location and I use Logmein to view the screen. Logmein at times jumps to 50% CPU. My conclusion is the popping is caused by not enough CPU to run Linrad on the computer. I need Logmein to control the computer.
