I suspect that the filters look for Windows executables or graphics files.
.sh.gz wouldnt be recognized as such (?maybe gz would)

I use Linux so I dont worry about virus checkers, tho I do have a firewall to stop all those nastier attacks which most Windows users arent even aware of. I am surprised that the list reflector would accept an attachment - is that a security issue?

I will try attaching the file to this post to the list
It is gzipped in case it executes without the user wanting
I suggest saving it to the desktop or location as you see fit

Change the file permissions (right click on the file icon on the desktop -> properties -> permissions)
so that the user can execute the file

Open a terminal eg Konsole in KDE
cd to location of script
su
( to change to root)
enter root password
gunzip script
ls
(to see if script.sh is present)

to run script
./script.sh

I would be interested in comments
