     flashes a [1284] message for several seconds and then returns to gdb.

     [1284]The RX input device failed. Linrad does not know how
     to stop a thread waiting for response from e.g. an unplugged
     USB device so an exit from Linrad is forced.
     In case you can repeatedly provoke this error by a reasonable
     procedure please post a message on the Linrad mailing list.

     And, after a few seconds,
