You are right, I have a serious problem :

I can stop the hal deamon by using the setup program :
 - on the first screen, select system processes.
 - Then look in the list for the haldeamon line and uncheck it.

If I run linrad I still get the overrun errors.

If I switch to runlevel 3 ( I have to stop again the hal deamon in
runlevel 3 ) the overrun errors are still there.

In both case the ps -ax do NOT show the hald 

I am setting up a Fedora Core 2 to see if the problem comes from FC3

BTW, the main receive screen is frozen, so the only thing I can read
is :

Linrad-01.32 30.7Mbytes fft1,fft2=12.1 hires 0.0 fft3=2.2 afc=0.0
bas=16.3

I am not sure this have any meaning...
